Uko Okon, LMSW — Army Infantry veteran and licensed therapist

About

Uko Okon, LMSW

Army Infantry Veteran · Licensed Therapist · Virtual Practice Serving Arizona

I spent 8.5 years in the Army Infantry before I became a therapist. I know what it means to carry weight that most people cannot see. I know what it means to push through when everything in you wants to stop. And I know how hard it is to walk into a room and ask for help when your entire identity has been built around not needing it.

I became a clinician because I wanted to be the therapist I wish I had when I came home. Verdant Therapy and Wellness exists to serve the people who serve — veterans, first responders, and the young people preparing to join their ranks.

I run a fully virtual practice because I know that access matters. Not everyone can get to an office. Not everyone wants to. Telehealth removes that barrier without removing any of the quality of care.

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker practicing under LCSW supervision. I have extensive clinical background in trauma, PTSD, and addiction recovery. I have completed EMDR Basic Training Parts 1 and 2 and am two consultation hours away from receiving my EMDR Basic Trained Certificate. My practice is based in Phoenix, Arizona and I offer secure telehealth sessions to clients throughout the state.
